TOXIC FAITH

When Faith Borders on Idolatry

Too often, in our pursuit of God’s power, we become fixated on what He can do for us, how He can intervene, and the ways He can bend circumstances in our favor. We chase miracles and victories, hoping to feel His presence in tangible ways. But in that pursuit, we sometimes neglect an equally vital truth: God’s sovereignty.

Sovereignty isn’t just about control—it’s about His authority, His timing, and His wisdom in ways we may not understand. When we hyperfocus on power without recognizing His sovereignty, we risk misunderstanding His character, misplacing our trust, and even turning our faith into something transactional. Toxic Faith invites us to step back, to see the full picture of God’s nature, and to embrace a faith that trusts not only in His might but in His perfect rule over all things. Only then can our faith move beyond fear, frustration, or expectation, into a rooted confidence that rests in the One who holds all things together.
